Many Chinese websites, including banks, stock market, information boards, streaming video, online auctions, and many others who do not accept explicit, Firefox and / or Linux. If you often go to their websites, the message "You must use IE.
Many of them also demand that download a file. Exe program, which means Linux and Mac users can not use the site.

I do not think it has something to do with open source. Or to be Chinese, for that matter. Each browser is different means that displays pages and deals with the plug-ins, and as a web developer, is a pain in the code for different browsers. And since everyone has Internet Explorer on your PC, the safest bet for lazy developers.
The same applies to Windows vs. Mac / Linux. You need to develop different applications for each operating system. Hold on to Windows is much easier.
